Why is the Freestyle sales decreasing every month?

Hello Fasbeams,

My father owns Freestyle Titanium Diesel and it is indeed a pocket rocket car. Considering the fact that Ford has given all the features to it and also priced correctly, why is the sales decreasing every month? Why people wont buy it?

I saw some YouTube videos where many complained about rear seat space and small boot. I'm 5"11 and i can sit comfortably all day (Ford also provides adjustable rear head rests now) and boot is also big adequate for daily usage. It doesn't sell because it doesn't come with automatic transmission and doesn't get those fancy DRLs?

I live in a town where there are just 2 or 3 Freestyles including ours and I see more than 20 new swifts (2018 edition) everyday. I feel really sad to see that people don't consider Ford cars while purchasing.

Please let me know your thoughts, let me know if there are any other reasons why people wont buy Ford cars especially the Freestyle. Thank You.

The Freestyle is a great car indeed and a complete all rounder but the current market shift towards automatics due to increasing traffic is the major reason for it's falling sales. My family was interested in the Freestyle but our first priority was an Auto box (I personally love manual boxes) which was sorely missing in this Beast.I hope FORD does something about this!

By the way, where do you live?

Thats right. I think Ford should launch the automatic variant with the existing 1.2L engine not with the 1.5L(petrol) like they did in Aspire. Because almost every Indian drivers prefer mileage more than safety. In than case the 1.2L engine with automatic transmission will be more convenient for buyers.

I live in Puttur, Karnataka.

@Keerthan Kolathaya You are absolutely right and the TC auto box will also mask the initial lag of the 1.2l dragon petrol motor. But I really want Ford to launch an auto variant with the Fantastic 1.5l diesel motor, that can be a major hit with our 'KITNA DETI HAI JANTA'.

How are the roads in Puttur?

@nazaar.mohamed98 Yes absolutely. But i guess people in city mostly concentrate on petrol cars now a days. Definitely Ford should think about sales.

Roads are good but narrow and filled with vehicles!! Feels like driving in a busy city.
