FIAT Linea Black smoke issue. Need guidance on EGR

My Linea Emotion Diesel is giving out black smoke while acceleration. Smoke emissions were way too high when i was cruising at 120 Km/Hr on a rainy day. It might be due to friction occurring due to wet roads. Pick up has gone too low and with AC on, power seems almost gone as if this 91 HP multijet engine is not meant for this tank like built car, also power to weight ratio doesn't match. This makes me go hard on throttle sometimes which in turn leads to drinking more fuel and economy goes down.

So should i go for EGR valve clean up to correct these prevailing issues?? Local mechanic suggested the same. It's almost been 50,000 KM since last EGR clean up.

Did you try changing your fuel pump?

i went for EGR valve clean up and there was considerable amt of carbon to be removed but still it's not a fix. Car still smokes on normal acceleration especially when AC is on. Also, it emits carbon powder on first start in the morning and might probably everytime which remain unnoticed when outdoors. Fuel pump, i'll get it inspected.

Go for EGR valve cleaning as many other Linea owners on other forums have done the same and the car was running perfectly after that. And this happens mainly because of bad fuel.
